Welcome to the page for the schedule. We are excited about our schedule line up that offers girls a chance to practice and rehearse with their band. This schedule may change a bit, but we will keep it updated.
Monday July 23rd
8am to 9am registration in the downstairs lobby.
9am to 10am we meet in the choir room for ‘get to know you’ games and meet the teachers. Each teacher will play one song for the students. Parents are welcome to attend. This is a good time for any questions you have
10am-noon Students will go to their practice room with their teacher and meet their new band. Sometimes there will be some member changes between bands.
Noon: eat lunch in the cafeteria with your band.
12:30 meet back in the choir room for songwriting 101
1:30 band practice
2:45 meet back in the choir room for summary of the day and check out proceedures
3pm to 3:30 is check out time in the downstair lobby
Tuesday July 24th
8:30am to 9am Students can come and sign in and report to their band room to practice
9:00-9:10 meet in the choir room for announcements and attendance
9:10-10:00 band practice
10:00-10:45 drum circle
10:45-noon band practice
Noon: lunch in cafeteria
12:20 walk around the pond
12:30 band practice
1:45 each band plays what they have for other students
2:15 band practice
Wednesday July 25th
8:30am to 9am Students can come and sign in and report to their band room to practice
9:00-9:10 meet in the choir room for announcements and attendance
9:10-10:00 band practice
10:00-11:00 beat boxing with Desdamona in the Choir room
11:00-12:00 band practice
Noon lunch in the cafeteria
12:30 -2:45 band practice
during this time, there will be “pull out’s” to help individual players with their instruments and helping bands with writing their songs
2:45 - 3:00 meet back in the choir room
Thursday July 26th
8:30am to 9am Students can come and sign in and report to their band room to practice
9:00-9:10 meet in the choir room for announcements and attendance
9:10-10:00 band practice
10:00-10:30 meet in the choir room for a discussion of women’s music history and gender in the music business
10:30-Noon band practice
Noon lunch in the cafeteria
12:30 meet in either the auditorium or the choir room. The teachers will “jam” in a band setting and allow students to play with them.
1:30-2:45 band practice
2:45 - 3:00 meet back in the choir room
Friday July 27th
8:30am to 9am Students can come and sign in and report to their band room to practice
9:00-9:10 meet in the choir room for announcements and attendance
9:10-noon band practice - each band will be pulled out one at a time to go to the auditorium and pick out costumes and discuss how they get on and off stage, what to say in between songs and where they will stand.
Noon is lunch
12:30-1:30 band practice
1:30 is dress rehearsal in the auditorium
3:00 is pizza party
3:30 is the performance in the auditorium broadcast live on our website at www.PopRockers.org
4:30-5:00 gathering in the lobby outside the auditorium. Parents can chat with the teachers.
